Fine-Scale Genetic Profile and Admixture History of Two Hmong-Mien–Speaking Miao Tribes from Southwest China Inferred from Genome-wide Data

چکیده

As the dominant indigenous minority in southern China, Hmong-Mien-speaking Miao people were thought to be descendants of Neolithic Yangtze rice farmers. However, fine-scale population structure and genetic profile populations remain unclear due limited samples from China Southeast Asia. We genotyped 19 individuals two largest tribes Guizhou Province (Southwest China) via SNP chips co-analyzed data with published modern ancient East Asians. The displayed a closer genomic affinity present-day Iron Age Asians (SEAs) than most northern (NEAs). substructure within groups was driven by different levels interaction other ethnolinguistic groups: Hunan (Central harbored higher proportions NEA-related ancestry; Vietnam (mainland Asia) received additional gene flow mainly surrounding Tai-Kadai–related ancestry. There also more complex admixture events newly studied between Xijiang compared Congjiang Miao. qpAdm model further demonstrated that primary ancestry Miao, here, derived SEA-related (represented coastal early SEA Liangdao2), spatiotemporally inland Yellow River farmers), slightly proportions. Our evidence reveals distinct demographic history tribes.

Demographic History of Oceania Inferred from Genome-wide Data

BACKGROUND The human history of Oceania comprises two extremes: the initial colonizations of Near Oceania, one of the oldest out-of-Africa migrations, and of Remote Oceania, the most recent expansion into unoccupied territories. Genetic studies, mostly using uniparentally inherited DNA, have shed some light on human origins in Oceania, particularly indicating that Polynesians are of mixed East ...

Reconstructing Roma History from Genome-Wide Data

The Roma people, living throughout Europe and West Asia, are a diverse population linked by the Romani language and culture. Previous linguistic and genetic studies have suggested that the Roma migrated into Europe from South Asia about 1,000-1,500 years ago. Genetic inferences about Roma history have mostly focused on the Y chromosome and mitochondrial DNA. To explore what additional informati...

A mitogenomic phylogeny and genetic history of Amphioctopus fangsiao (d’Orbigny 1839-1841) from China

Phylogeny and genetic diversity of Amphioctopus fangsiao were assessed by sequence analysis of complete mitochondrial genomes, sequenced from 15 individuals of nine populations. The whole mtDNA genomes size were ranging from 15977 to 15990 bp. Data revealed 1642 polymorphic sites and 1023 parsimony informative sites.  The phylogenetic analysis based on neighbor joining tree disclosed two clades...

Admixture patterns and genetic differentiation in negrito groups from West Malaysia estimated from genome-wide SNP data.

Southeast Asia houses various culturally and linguistically diverse ethnic groups. In Malaysia, where the Malay, Chinese, and Indian ethnic groups form the majority, there exist minority groups such as the "negritos" who are believed to be descendants of the earliest settlers of Southeast Asia. Here we report patterns of genetic substructure and admixture in two Malaysian negrito populations (J...
